Ranga's Toon Tales

Manmohan Adhikari

THE then Nepalese Prime Minister Manmohan Adhikari was in Delhi on an official visit in 1995. He visited a number of places of historical interest in and around Delhi and signed a number of agreements on mutual cooperation between Nepal and India. He was accompanied by a large entourage and was satisfied with his visit to Delhi.

He met many Nepalese residents and at the end of his stay I met him with his sketch that I had made. He was in a fix whether to keep it or return it to me. One of his aides whispered to him that he was supposed to autograph it. He was somewhat unwilling to return it. Sensing his desire to keep it, I immediately drew another one. He signed on it and returned it to me and said, "Thanks for the other one".
