Revelations

Yesterday I had a dream,

With a theme.

It was the beautiful promises life seems to hold,

And the problems that crop up as it slowly unfolds.

I pictured life as a path I was walking on.

I wasn’t alone, a lot of people were walking along.

But no one had the time to look at the other,

And as I walked a little further.

I noticed my path was not as friendly as it had been.

It had become rough and dusty, the surroundings not very rosy and green.

Everyone walking along with me had increased their pace.

And soon I realised we were all a part of a race.

A race against space, a race against time.

Everyone trying to outdo the other, for no reason or rhyme.

I increased my pace too, someone asked me to stop.

But I said I had not a minute to lend.

Why not? It said, your journey has already come to an end.

I looked up and saw that my path was over.

In order to satisfy my greed for power.

I had forgotten the purpose of my journey,

It was not to strive.

But to experience the experience of living my life.

An ideal teacher

A teacher is one,

Who burns like a lamp.

He loves his disciples,

And imparts his principles.

He is affectionate,

And does not discriminate.

The nation he does build,

By focusing on the child.

Environment

We must try to keep our environment neat and clean,

So that our surroundings look airy and green.

Everyone throws waste and poly bags here and there,

But when it comes to cleaning-up, no one is seen any where.

Trees are relentlessly felled for monetary benefit,

Whithout considering the environmental value a bit.

The beauty of clean flowing water refreshes our eyes,

But still we dump waste in it to breed mosquitoes and flies.

Oh God! What has happened to the human being,

Who is instrumental in his own undoing.
