Pour heavens, pour!

Pour heavens, pour!

Pour heavens, pour!

My heart is happy,

Happy to the core.

Pour heavens, pour!

Green grow the fields,

Black goes the sky,

Nature takes bath,

Why shouldn’t I?

Pour heavens, pour!

Work can wait,

So can school,

Come with me,

Don’t be a fool.

Come in twos,

Come in fours.

Pour heavens, pour!

Pour heavens, pour!

My heart is happy,

Happy to the core.

Pour heavens, pour!

Raksha Bandhan

Monsoon sent me into reverie,

Forgetting sibling rivalry —

Like the pritter-pratter of rain-drops

You used to skip and hop —

Helter-skelter you ran when I teased

The hide’n’ seek we played, then ceased.

Gentle was your behaviour

Hey! Wasn’t I your saviour?

By tying rakhi of different hues’

You mused —

These are bonds of togetherness

Which bring immense happiness!

Recalling the million-dollar smile

Of my dear sister, across miles’n’ miles,

‘N’ miles....

A letter to God

You are not known by senses,

But widely known by your gentleness.

You are invisible,

But yet invincible.

You are bodiless,

As you are birthless.

You are everywhere,

But we find you nowhere.

You are the only one who stays in my mind,

O’ God! So please be kind.
