Medical camp by bank

Ludhiana, August 1
A free medical camp was inaugurated by Mr S. Jha, General Manager, UCO Bank, at Ayali Kalan village to mark the diamond jubilee year of the bank.

Mr Jha said the bank had earned a net profit of Rs 165 crore in the year 2001-2002. The bank did a business of 31,000 crore in the financial year 2001-2002 and it was expected to reach 40,000 crore in the current financial year.

Mr J.R. Malhotra, AGM, Regional Office, Chandigarh, said the bank had 1,717 branches in all with 86 branches in Punjab only. Dr Y.V. Malhotra and his team from Gurdev Hospital examined 212 patients at the camp, while M/s Sood Pharma Distt. (P) Limited distributed free medicines to the patients.

Mr T.R. Anand, DCO, Regional Office, Chandigarh, Mr Baldev Singh, Branch Manager, Ayali Kalan, Mr J.P. Singh, Branch Manager, Ayali Khurd, Mr Baldev Singh, Assistant Manager, Ayali Kalan branch, Mr D.K. Malhotra, Ms Kashmir Kaur, Mr Rakesh Singla, sarpanch of the village and other respectable persons were also present on the occasion.
