Ludhiana, July 30
When a DPI’s nominee to an interview board did not turn up at the venue here today, the interviews had to be cancelled, causing harassment to 33 candidates for the post of a Hindi lecturer in the Master Tara Singh Memorial College for Women.
The other members of the selection committee, including a nominee of the Vice-Chancellor, subject experts, Principal of the college and members of the managing committee, reached there on time. Several candidates and panelists had come from far away.
After a long wait for the DPI-nominee, the other panelists called up at the office of Ms Nisha Sharda, DPI Colleges, but didn’t find her in office. When the permission to
substitute the DPI-nominee with either of the principals of the two local government colleges was denied, the interviews had to be cancelled.
The candidates were told that a fresh interview-date would soon be announced.
Ms Madanjit Kaur Sahota, Principal of the college, when contacted, said the interviews had indeed been cancelled. She said she would contact the DPI tomorrow to reschedule the interviews.
