Tony Mahajan XI and Lokesh Khanna XI registered convincing victories in the first Samrat Coolers Cricket Tournament for boys (u-17) being organised by the Ludhiana District Cricket Association, which began at the Arya College for Boys ground here today. Tony Mahajan XI defeated Chaman Lal XI by 6 wickets, while Lokesh Khanna XI demolished Satish Mangal XI by 9 wickets.
In the inaugural match, Tony Mahajan XI won the toss and asked Chaman Lal XI to bat. In the allotted 25 overs, Tony Mahajan XI made 127 losing nine wickets. The main scorers were Pankaj and Puneet Garg who contributed 37 and 31 runs, respectively. For Tony Mahajan XI, Jashanpreet took three wickets while Mohit scalped two victims.
Arjun Puri (48 n.o.) and Parveen 28 helped Tony Mahajan XI to achieve the target in 20.2 overs. They scored 131 for 4 to register an easy victory by 6 wickets.

In the second match, Satish Mangal XI posted a challenging total of 171 for 5 in the stipulated 25 overs. Yogesh top scored with 67 runs, followed by Sarang Vaid and Gurashish Khurana who chipped in with 31 and 27 runs, respectively.
In reply, with the help of strokeful innings from Chinton Sehgal (98) and Gaurav Dawar (51 no.), Lokesh Khanna XI raced to an easy 9-wicket win. They made 174 for 1 with two overs to spare.
