8 local students among PU toppers

As many as eight students of Ramgarhia Girls College have appeared in the list 10 students topping MSc (Information Technology) examination conducted by Panjab University, Chandigarh. This was claimed in a Press note issued by the college authorities here today.

The press note further stated that all 29 students, who had appeared for the examination, had scored more than 70 per cent marks. Among them 27 students had got distinction with 75 per cent marks and above. As many as 11 students had scored more than 80 per cent marks.

PCCTU rally deferred

The rally of the Punjab and Chandigarh College Teachers Union (PCCTU) that was scheduled to be held here tomorrow has been postponed. Prof Parminder Singh, district president of the union, said the rally would now be held on August 8 at GGN Khalsa College here.
