THE Solan police have launched a unique film-based project to educate the local populace on their rights and duties. Titled Aap aur Hum and shot entirely in and around Solan by the district police chief SZH Zaidi, the film’s characters are real life people. T-Series and the Vardhman Group of Industries are its official sponsors. The 17.5 to 22 -minute film made in four parts deals with different aspects of policing, including traffic management and rights of women. The film was recently launched for screening in Himachal Pradesh and its special target group is children. This is the first time that an educational film has been made by any district police in the country. The special
characteristic of this film is a campaign called Mitra. Under
this campaign, personnel of the nearest police station would be
introduced to children in schools after the screening of the film. They
would answer questions raised by children after watching the film. Zaidi
has also brought out a small booklet with details of police stations in
the district, their telephone numbers, etc. |
