Rainwater harvesting! A billion dollar idea, literally

HELLO friends! Welcome to kids chat junction. It's Monday again and our chat hosts Windy, Cliparti and Fluppy are packed with lots of information to share with you. Let's go straight to them to see what they have for us this week.

Cliparti: Hi Friends! So the reverse counting has begun for reopening of schools. I hope you have done quite a bit of homework and are all set to set the ball rolling again.

Windy: Yeah That's right. It's time to set the ball rolling as the World Cup soccer fever is finally reaching its climax and we are going to see some intense action in the World cup soccer. Hey! friends check out this cool site on World Cup soccer www.fifa.com. It is an excellent site and here you can find all news and data related to the World Cup. You can read the comments of the experts and can know the viewpoint of many prominent players in the world of soccer. It's really a cool site.

Cliparti: Thank you for your information. It was indeed a good piece of information. But by the expression "Set the ball rolling" I did not mean soccer. Since Windy is a soccer fan so these days "ball" means soccer to our dear friend. What I meant to say was that since you must have done a major part of the homework by now so you could pursue all those activities, which you would not be able to do in normal school days.

Fluppy: That's interesting! But I could not really understand, what kind of activities you mean, Cliparti.

Cliparti: Ok! I will tell you in great detail. During these vacations we had a lot of fun and frolick, games, tours and holidays, creative activities etc. But there is one thing, which we are still missing.

Windy: What's that, Cliparti.

Cliparti: We have not done anything during our vacations for the social cause. Since we are a part of the society so we should also do our bit for the social cause. I would like to stress on all friends to create awareness for a big social-cum-natural issue of rainwater harvesting.

Fluppy: Hey what's Cliparti! I have heard about it but could never understand.

Cliparti: Fluppy! You can log on to the site www.cseindia.org/html/cmp/cmp41.htm and learn all about it in a simple way. This is the need of the hour and we need to be aware of it. In many parts of the country children have taken part in this crusade and have done a lot for the cause of the society. All we need to know is first get all our friends fully conversant with this simple concept that everyone can easily understand and then target all known persons. Then convey them this information and draw their attention to this important thing related to both nature and also the survival of the living beings. You can get more and more information on the Internet on rainwater harvesting. I have found some good sites on this issue. Some of these good sites are www.cgwaindia.com, www.cgwaindia.com/success.htm. These two sites are interesting and inspiring also.

Windy: I must say Cliparti, you have suggested us a billion dollar idea. I know quite a lot about rainwater harvesting and interestingly we did a small project on this subject in our school. It is indeed the need of the hour as rainy season is round the corner and this is high time to create this awareness.

Fluppy: If both of you say that this is a great idea then I will surely take part in it. Hey! being a little boy, if I am not able to understand this concept at least I can contribute my bit by providing our neighbours, friends, relatives and known persons and all elders the printout of information available so that they can read and appreciate.

Windy: For the first time in life I am fully convinced with Fluppy. He has said something very intelligent. But! Was it your idea anyway??

Cliparti: Hey! I guess this is the beginning of another leg pulling session between two good friends and before they proceed lets get on to our work and sign off for now.
