CELINE DION, youngest of a 14 children family, was born on March 30, 1968 (Aries), at Charlemagne, Quebec, Canada. She stands 5 feet 8 inches tall. The family held regular jam sessions, with Adhemar (her father) playing accordion and Therese (her mother) playing violin. The family used to spend their free time singing and playing different musical instruments. Her song was recorded for the first time on a demo tape when she was just 12. This was sent to Rene Angelil, who was a well-known manager in Montreal. He was impressed. He had to mortgage his house in order to pay for the production of her first two albums. Rene is still managing Celine's career and Celine married Rene Angelil on December 17,1994. Celine has bagged many awards including three Grammy awards. In 1993, she got Grammy award for best pop performance by a duo or a group, with Peabo Bryson, in 1997 she got Grammy award for Album of the Year and Pop album of the Year for the album "Falling Into You", and in 1999 she got Grammy award for the Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, Best Song Written For A Motion Picture or for Television for her song "My Heart Will Go On" for Titanic, the blockbuster. "A new day has come" is her latest album released in March this year and in three months 2 million copies have been sold.
