Mayank Tehlan hits century for Collage Group
Our Sports Reporter

New Delhi, May 28
A hurricane century by Delhi Under-16 player Mayank Tehlan enabled Collage Group defeat Gemini Club by 66 runs to enter the quarter-final of the 26th Lala Raghubir Singh Hot Weather Cricket Tournament at the Modern School ground in the Capital.

The match was delayed due to overnight rain. Gemini won the toss and opted to field. Collage Group made merry on a wicket which was not apparently much affected by the rain to run up a huge total of 259 for seven wickets in 30 overs.

Mayank Tehlan played the sheet-anchor role by slamming a strokeful 108, off 85 balls with five fours and six sixes. Oneil Wilson provided able support by striking a masterly 80 off just 68 balls. Mayank and Oneil put on an opening wicket partnership of 149 runs. Though medium pacer Geet Vats had a rich haul of 4 for 55, the knocks of Mayank and Oneil ensured a big total for Collage Group.

Gemini, in reply, could score only 193 for 8 wickets in the stipulated 30 overs. Deepak Rajput was their top scorer with 58 runs.

Mayank Tehlan was presented the Reebok Man of Match award by former Test umpire Ram Babu Gupta.
