Living on the edge

Aerosmith were formed in 1970s when vocalist Steven Tyler met Joe Perry guitarist while the latter was working in a New Hampshire’s ice cream parlour, the Anchorage. Tyler was in the area visiting the family-owned holiday resort. Perry, then playing in the Jam Band, invited Tyler, popular then for his own band ‘Chain Reaction’, to join him in a rock combo. Both of them with fellow Jam Band member Tom Hamilton (Bass) and new recruits Joey Kramer (Drums) and Ray Tabano (Guitar), the band's line-up was completed. Soon they became one of the USA’s most popular Hard-Rock band. Later, tension between Tyler and Perry ended up with division of the group. Jimmy Crespo joined Aerosmith in 1980. Contact between the band and Perry and Whitford was re-established during a 1984 tour they decided to perform together again. They disappeared for some time as Tyler and Perry underwent a successful rehabilitation programme to rid themselves of drug and alcohol dependency.

The official Website of the band is www.aerosmith.com, made by using Flash which provides information about the band, videos, audios, biography, discography etc.

Recently, MTV paid tribute to Aerosmith with the mtvICON, which honours artists who have made a significant contribution to music, music video, and pop culture, while tremendously impacting the MTV generation over their careers.
