BRITNEY JEAN SPEARS was born on December 2, 1981, in Kentwood, a small town in Louisiana. Spears is a blonde who measures 5"6’ in her socks, her eye colour is brown, her first public performance was at the age of 4 when she sang "What Child Is This" at a church. Her professional career began at the age of 8, when she travelled to Atlanta, Ga., to audition for the Disney Channel's "Mickey Mouse Club". Spears' first single was released in 1998, the title track from her album, written by Max Martin. That was the first big commercial success for Britney. After that in January 1999 "...Baby, one more time" finally hit store shelves which got number one position in Billboard charts just after its release. It was a great achievement for 17 years old girl. The release of her second album, Oops! … I Did It Again, proved her talent and brought her again on the top position of all music lists of all channels. More than 1.3 million copies of this album were sold in the first week of its release. In an interview with MTV, Britney told that she decided to get involved in the entertainment world when she was a kid and she got the full support of her parents.

Britney also told that she had become a role model for young women living in towns following her creative footsteps. One of the biggest Britney facts that came to light this year was when, after months of speculation and repeated denials on both sides, she finally confirmed the rumour she and 'N Sync heart-throb Justin Timberlake are officially a couple.
