Learn French, German at enchantedlearning.com

WELCOME friends to our weekly chat at the kids chat point. The summer is setting and the mercury is rising day by day. So what you guys have planned for the summer vacations. Lets check out with our hosts Windy, Cliparti and Fluppy.

Windy: Hey friends! So, you are back to your schools. I am sure you must be having a lot of fun in your new class with new friends and also new challenges and now you must be eagerly looking forward to the summer vacations.

Cliparti: That's quite obvious as this is the most sought after period of the year. Anyways! Have you decided anything for your summer vacations yet Windy?

Windy: Not really, Cliparti, as I was still exploring the various options.

Cliparti: What options you have in your mind?

Windy: I am planning to go for a trip to some hill station but that would depend upon my dad. Then I am also planning to join some sports academy.

Fluppy: That's a new idea and for a change a good idea from Windy.

Windy: Oh Really! Fluppy.

Fluppy: Yeah, that's right. I had been planning to go out to some hill station. But this idea sounds interesting. Could you please tell us more about it?

Windy: Well! You can find some sports academy in your town and this is the right time to book a place for you for the forthcoming summer vacations. These days sports academies are very common and in every big city like Chandigarh, Jalandhar, Delhi, etc, you can find many sports academy.

Cliparti: Well! That sounds interesting. But I have a little different plan.

Fluppy: What's that, Cliparti?

Cliparti: I am planning to join some foreign language course on the Internet. Since it would be very hot outside and thus it would be difficult for many of us to go to distant places in the summers. Therefore I have decided to stay indoors and yet utilise my time most optimally.

Fluppy: That's another good idea. But are you aware of any such sites on the Internet, where you can learn these languages.

Cliparti: Yeah Fluppy! These days I have been watching this site called www.enchantedlearning.com:80/German to learn the basics of German language. I am also simultaneously learning French on this site. This site though is elementary yet provides a good base for understanding these and many other languages. Once I am through with the basics, I will join the intermediary or some advanced course in the vacations.

Fluppy: Wow that's great. Do you need any help to browse this site?

Cliparti: No, Fluppy, This is a good site and teaches you the basics of these languages in pictorial form. You can see the picture and then can know its English and French name. This site is basically for kids only.

Windy: That's really a good idea and a good site. I can add this idea also to my list of "things to do" during summer vacations. I feel that summer vacations are not just meant for visiting places. But it is also for spending time creatively.

Fluppy: Well! That phrase "creatively" reminds me of my idea of summer vacations.

Windy: Oh well! I have something to say here. As per Fluppy spending summer vacations means, eating all that you can, getting up late in the morning, sleeping late in the night, watching all new releases in the cinema halls and…

Cliparti: Oh god! Please don't start that again Windy, let's listen to Fluppy, what he has for us.

Fluppy: Friends! Windy has told you his undisclosed agenda for the summer vacations. Here is my idea of summer vacations. I would take up some projects this summer for the rest of my vacations as I would spend some time in Shimla with my grand parents and once I am back I would take up these projects. Friends you can know more about these projects at www.verybestkids.com and www.yesmag.bc.ca/homepage.html. Both these sites are excellent and offer good creative ideas for kids.

So, this week you must have got some new ideas for the summer vacations. Let's sign off for now to meet again next week with more fun. — Ira Verma
