Dreaming of fields

IN dreams, fields are a symbol of fertility or barrenness. They are also a symbol of material possessions and financial security.

According to Indian thought, to see a field of standing crops is a good dream and it foretells a good turn of events in your life. There shall be no dearth of happiness in your life. Your health shall improve and you shall prosper in all spheres. If the crops in the field are not ripe, it means that you shall have to wait for good times. Should you dream of buying fields then it is a sign of development. If you see yourself surveying an empty field, it means you shall have to face losses in the future. To till a field is also a good omen. It foretells that with your hard work you shall prosper and gain in life. As this is also a symbol of fertility, it means that your married life shall be full of happiness.

As per western thought, to see fields where the crops have already been cut foretells dreary prospects for the dreamer. To see green fields denotes an abundance of happiness for the dreamer. To see newly ploughed fields denotes an imminent increase in wealth and advancement in your position at work or in the society.

Psychologically speaking, dreaming of fields symbolises our perceptions of our daily activities. It is also connected with our feelings and with freedom from social pressure. It also denotes our need to be aware of the spaces in our lives where we can be ourselves, to be aware of what comes naturally to us, and perhaps to get back to basics. To dream of oneself moving about aimlessly in empty fields stresses the need for giving some direction to our lives. It points to the fact that we seem to have lost sight of our aims. The dreamer needs to exercise control over the happenings in his life and start guiding his life toward a particular goal. To dream of walking in green fields has to do with the feeling of satisfaction stemming from what you have achieved. A dream of fields with ripe corns, when seen by women, is a fertility dream. It denoted a woman's desire to become a mother.

A 44-year-old woman often dreamt of roaming about in a dry field where not a single weed or blade of grass could be seen. She is tired but does not know where to stop. This dream is a clear sign of the lady's sense of aimlessness with regard to her life. She is unable to make her own decisions. She needs to take the help of someone in order to give direction to her life. It is best for this person to visit a counsellor.
