Ludhiana, March 17
Anjuman-2002, a cultural festival, was organised by the Department of Business Management at Pal Auditorium on the PAU campus yesterday. More than 20 colleges of North India participated in the festival. Anjuman provides a welcome break to students from studies and they get a chance to participate in creative events like scooter and car painting, masquerade and ad mad show.
The Vice-Chancellor, PAU, Mr K.S. Aulakh, inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp. “Churi Parandi” was a keenly contested event in which 10 colleges participated. “Dumb Charade” and flower arrangement competition were going on the lawns. A flower arrangement was titled as World Peace. War Widow was another beautiful composition. Students were painting scooters and cars of their choice in another part of the grounds.
Jhankar, a dance competition, had the maximum number of colleges participating. Fourteen colleges participated in it. The other interesting events based on general knowledge included Brain Tax and “Bhujo to Jaane”. Rangolis with mirrors and lit
earthen pots caught everybody’s eye. Jaswinder Bhalla, popularly known as Chacha Raunki Ram, regaled the audience with his rustic humour.
But the programmes ran one hour behind schedule and management of events was poor. A participant from Patiala remarked that last year’s programme was better organised.
However, the department was rated in
B+ category along with the UBS of PU, Chandigarh, by Business India making it the best B school of the region. A news letter of Business Management was released today. The colleges from Patiala, Ambala City, Mohali, Moga, Jalandhar and Sangrur participated in the festival.
