Surprise visit

SAS Nagar, March 16
The Managing Director of the Punjab Health Systems Corporation today made a surprise visit to the Phase 6 Civil Hospital here and listened to problems of patients.

According to sources, some of the patients complained about the indifferent attitude of the hospital staff towards them. Hospital officials, however, termed it as a routine visit of the MD.

Volleyball championships on March 30

Chandigarh, March 16
The Chandigarh State Senior Volleyball Championships for men and women will be held on March 30 and 31 at Sports Complex, Sector 7. The entries can be sent to Mr Suresh Kumar, coach, till March 29. This was stated by Mr B.L. Malhotra, honorary secretary of the association.

Athletics meet

The 44th annual athletics meet of the DAV College, Sector 10, Chandigarh, will be held on March 19 and 20 at the college grounds. Justice D.V. Sehgal, Lok Pal, Punjab, will inaugurate the meet. Dr Ajmer Singh, Arjuna awardee, would preside over the closing ceremony on March 20 at 2.15 p.m.
