Break-even point:
In the development of a new computer language, it is the point at
which a compiler for the language can be written in the language
itself and the original implementation language can be discarded in
favour of using the working language to develop newer versions of
itself.
Active archiving:
The process of removing a precise set of infrequently used reference
data from an overloaded relational database and keeping it active in
an archive where it can be easily and quickly retrieved when needed.
MLPPP:
Short for MultiLink PPP, an extension of the PPP that allows the
B-channels of ISDN lines to be used in combination as a single
transmission line, doubling throughput to 128 KBPS.
Bit rate:
The ratio of the number of bits that are transferred between devices
in a specified amount of time, typically one second.
