Ludhiana, January 18
Mr S.K. Sandhu, Deputy Commissioner, yesterday directed the Improvement Trust authorities to develop and maintain the public parks properly on the pattern adopted by the Municipal Corporation through societies of members of public and industrial houses. He further directed to stop encroachment immediately, if any, prevailing in any of the colonies, developed and maintained by the Improvement Trust.
These instructions were given in a sangat darshan programme held at Bachat Bhavan here. The DC, while taking a serious note on the complaint of the Maharishi Balmiki Nagar Welfare Association regarding the encroachment on a park by Viklang Kendra, located adjoining the park. He directed the Executive Officer of the trust to immediately stop the work being undertaken by the
kendra, if no written agreement was made for the development and maintenance of the park.
In the programme, 28 of the 54 complaints were redressed on the spot and remaining were marked to the officers concerned for verification and report.
Disposing of the complaint of Ms Anju Bala of Salem Tabri that she had been thrown out of her parental house by her brother-in-law and others, the DC directed the SP concerned to depute the SHO to take immediate action to provide justice to the aggrieved woman.
