Indian personalities
in fashion world
MOST
of those who are young at heart, fashion is a passion. They’ll shop
endlessly to buy what suits them and what may make them stand apart.
Here are a few sites created by those Indian designers who have made a
name in the fashion world through sheer creativity.
www.rituberi.com
Owner of this site is
none other than India’s number one and world famous fashion designer
Ritu Beri. Herself an internationally-renowned designer she has been
working with many top designers of the world. On site, we can see a
number of awards won by her. This beautiful site is designed and
hosted by Netlink Information Systems Limited. The site can be viewed
in flash and normal version. There are many links to roam around but
the most popular is the new collection. In this section we can see her
latest designs. Traditional, wedding and interiors are other links
where we can see her other collections. One can also order designer
wears online for which we have to mention measurements. While ordering
the designer wear one has to write the style reference number and
style details written below every design.
www.ritukumar.com
Ritu Kumar is the one who
has dressed 20 contestants out of which five have won at the Miss World
and Miss Universe contest. ‘Designs for Miss India’ page give us the
details of Ritu’s working from 1994 to 2001 with prominent models of
India. Sushmita Sen, Aishwarya Rai, Lara Dutta, Manpreet Brar, Preeti
Mankotia, Anni Thomas, Gul Panag, Nafisa Joseph, Diana Hayden and Yukta
Mukhi are some of the top models she has worked with. In this section we
can see her designs made for above-mentioned models. We can see her
traditional as well as western designs.
www.ravibajaj.com
Ravi, a graduate from the
American College of Applied Arts, UK, is known for his elegant designs. More
than a decade in the business, designer Ravi Bajaj has focussed on the Western
wear in a market dominated by ethnic styling. Ravi Bajaj is the first designer
who had designed uniform for Jet Airways staff. It is a Flash-enabled site
wherein soft background music enhances the beauty of the site. Menswears,
Womenswear, Raviver, Uniforms, Store locater are some of the links that are
available on the first page. The links show the work done by him with different
models. There are some tiny animated buttons present at the bottom of each photo
of the model to see the various designs made by him. The store locater takes you
to the list of stores where we can find designer wear of his brand.
www.jjvalaya.com
J. J. Valaya, a well-know
name in the fashion industry, offers this site to give an idea of
fashion. We can see a small sample of work he has done recently. Site
gives traditional looks. The main sections of the site are embroideries,
range, trade information and Web retail offer. Range section is further
divided into menswear, womenswear, accessories and soft furnishings.
This site does not show good quantity of designer range. We can see
Valaya’s original collections at cyberboutique . An introduction of
"Life," a place in Delhi where we can see a collection of
Valaya is also available on a page along with route map. This site has
no provision to order designer wear online as the site merely gives a
peep into Valaya’s work.
