Why you should...
...be a cad

  • Sandeep JoshiBecause what else can a man be?

  • Because honourable behaviour comes hard; dishonourable behaviour is just being your natural self.

  • Because women habitually and irresistibly fall for cads; they marry gentleman.

  • Because cads bring out the best/ worst in women. Remember Scarlett O’ Hara falling for Rhett Butler more intensely than for Ashley Wilkes and actually living a life with him and becoming heroic herself in turn?

  • Because you believe in everything for yourself and don’t think of doing anybody any good. You want to survive the battle for survival and ensure the survival of your species.

  • Because self-interest is the best interest. Where is the morality involved?

  • Because the world is not about sentimental fools, who, rather than get on with life, stay stuck in the quagmire called principles.

  • Because you rush in where ‘gentlemen’ fear to tread. Of course, to your great advantage!

  • Because life with a cad is a roller-coaster ride and not a humdrum existence in which the only excitement is a fly disturbing you during your daily afternoon seista.

  • Because being a cad you will let down the girls so many times that they will learn to stand on their own feet. It is your contribution to women’s empowerment.

  • Because you will introduce her to the pleasures of crying into her own pillow. No girl’s life is worth its while if there is not a wet pillow in it.

  • Because women never get over their itch to reform a cad. It is a lifetime’s work and more, and you will be gifting her with an agenda.

  • Because she will never have to tell you to get lost. You will disappear before she can flutter her eyelashes, or say ‘periwinkle.’
