Why you should...
...not fall in love

  • Because you are not stupid. Only in love can you be "head over heels" and yet claim you are not embarrassed by your assinine behaviour.

  • Because love kills, painfully and slowly. You have to be insane to
inoculate yourself with a terminal illness.

  • Because you are not a waster. Fall in love and all your time,
money and energy goes down the drain for something as ephemeral as a smile or a glance.

  • Because all women are whimsical and all men are unreliable.

  • Because love never lasts.

  • Because love creates dependence, which, in turn, demands a very heavy price—loyalty. Why should you serve just one and refuse to acknowledge others who stand and wait?

  • Because love creates a craving. Like drugs, it is best avoided.

  • Because you lose out on your friends as you have no time for them.

  • Because the high telephone bill will bug your Old Man no end.

  • Because love is blind and you want to preserve your vision.

  • Because you don’t want to be ditched, dumped or duped.

  • Because love means never having to say sorry. It only means feeling very sorry for yourself.

  • Because love makes the world go round and round and you prefer to walk a straight line.

  • Because love has done nobody any good. It creates children and responsibilities just as mosquitoes create malaria and dengue.

  • Because you loved God and had faith in him, today you are bald, divorced and out of job.
