Our Correspondent

Ludhiana, June 3
‘Ekam Da Chand’, an anthology of poems written by Harman Meet Kaur Lali, was released by the famous figure of Punjabi literature, Surjit Patar, at a function held at Punjabi Bhavan, here today. A postgraduate in Punjabi literature, she developed a love for poetry in her college days. She has chosen ‘romance and nature’ as the’ leitmotif’ of her poems.

According to Kulwant Jagraon, Secretary, Punjabi Bhavan, Lali’s poems have a spontaneity as they flow straight from her heart. Her approach is fresh and truthful. Though she has written in blank verse, yet there is rhythm in her poetry. She has tried her hand at ghazal writing too with some success.”

Prof Surjit Patar, who has received the Sahitya Academy Award, was gracious enough to release her book. He said, “I have liked her approach and she is like a new blossom into the world of Punjabi literature. Through her poems, she has brought a whiff of freshness.”

The other literary figures present among the audience were Prof M.S. Cheema, Mr Karanjit Singh Aujla, Dr Paramjit Singh Sohal, Principal Prem Singh, and Nirmal Singh Jaura.
