THE Asian School of Cyberlaws (ASCL), Pune, has introduced courses in Internet security and digital signatures. The ASCL’s certificate in internet security involves an in-depth techno-legal study of the methods by which a company can protect and safeguard its systems from internal as well as external threats such as hacking, virus and cyber terrorism. The certificate course in digital signatures and cryptography would enable an IT professional to understand the cryptography standards used all around the world and would teach the basics, functioning and benefits of digital signatures. The course material is provided online through CD ROMs and in printed form. Both courses are of six months’ duration. Students shall be provided with 24-hour guidance with the help of their counsellors. There would be regular Net meetings to solve any problems that the participants of the course may face. In accordance with the industry standards the students are required to submit a project as their final assessment. The ASCL also conducts the Diploma in Information Technology Law, a course focussing on the technical and legal issues related to the Information Technology Act of India — TNS |
