No way to hold fashion show
Tribune News Service

Chandigarh, April 8
Perhaps the number of fashion shows that are organised in the city is inversely proportionate to the quality of these. Another one of such shows was the ‘Beat It With Live-in Coolers’ that was organised in the Majlis hall of Hotel Shivalikview today.

Though organisers claimed that they had the best models and arrangements, the show was jinxed right from the start.

At the entrance, there was a grand display of the ‘live-in cooler’ summer collection and a huge rush. Organisers were screening those who wished to enter. In their confusion, they forgot that they had also sent invitations to the Press. One of the organisers was heard saying, “This conference is only for dealers.” He budged only when he was shown a letter of invitation.

Another dampener was the undue delay in the start of the show, much to the discomfort of the Press and guests. By the time models stepped on the ramp, many of the guests had already lost interest in the show.

The models included Neha Dhupia, Aarti Chadha, Parul Srivastava and Lakshmi. The choreographer of the show was Nandini of Delhi. The Press had been informed that singer Shankar Sawhney was to perform there, but that performance might also have been delayed.
