Hafed to make its mark on Web THE Haryana State Cooperative Supply & Marketing Federation Ltd (Hafed) is all set to make its mark on the Web. The Chief Minister, Haryana, Mr Om Prakash Chautala, will formally inaugurate the site, www.hafed.nic.in, on April 4, sources say. An apex state co-operative service and marketing institution, Hafed came into being on November 1, 1966 when Haryana was carved out of joint Punjab. Starting from ensuring remunerative prices to the growers’ to provide quality products, Hafed’s service package includes supply of quality agricultural inputs, adequate marketing support and looking after the farmers’ needs at all levels. The site will have online trade inquiry form, new projects and tenders listed on the Web. The organisation has, over the years, exported rice, cotton and extractions to various countries and is seeking clients abroad with wheat and barley malt. The Tender section has been divided into "Current active tenders" and "General requirements" sub-sections. Hafed is looking forward for overseas collaborations for the transfer of latest technology and marketing tie-ups in domestic as well as international markets for setting up agro-processing and agro-chemicals units. With an annual turnover exceeding Rs.13, 000 million, this organisation has over 1,600 employees on its rolls. — TNS
