MUSIC lovers brace yourself for some pop dhamaka! The Bhupi-Jawahar Wattal team that gave you the hit albums Jogia Khalli Balli and Wallah Wallah is coming out with another Punjabi pop album very soon. Named Naag Ishq Da Ladiya, this album will have eight melodious songs written by Bhupi’s elder brother G.S. Chawla, Surjeet Singh Rahi and famous poet Aanchal. Composer Jawahar Wattal, a well-known music director, has come up with catchy, foot-tapping numbers, including Aa tootan wale khoo te... and Asi saare haan Punjabi.... The album has a mix of western and folk music. Two albums old, Bhupi
has carved a niche for himself in the world of Punjabi pop. He burst on
the music scene with his innovative style of singing at a time when
Daler Mehndi was a household name. |
Bhupi, who has performed live in a number of big cities in India and abroad, is grateful to Jawahar Wattal and G.S. Chawla for encouraging him. Bhupi proudly says,"I have a
typical Punjabi voice with a rustic touch. He feels that Punjabi pop is
popular and music companies are cashing in on this latest craze. Now,
even the western music audience is becoming appreciative of Punjabi
music. About his future plans, he says, "Punjabi pop music is what
I do best and that is what I plan to continue doing." |
