Apple unveils
PowerBook G4
APPLE
has launched a Titanium Powerbook G4 featuring PowerPC G4 processors
with velocity engine running up to 500 MHz, a 15.2-inch (diagonal)
mega-wide display, slot-loading DVD drive and 5 hour battery — all
in one-inch thick Titanium enclosure weighing 5.3 pounds.
With the G4
processors it would be easier to do video-editing using Apple’s
iMovie 2, a digital video-editing software and Final Cut Pro, a video
editing, effects and composing software.
The Powerbook would
be available in India through reseller network. The product is
"Airport ready" with a built-in slot for Airport cards and
two built-in antennae for communicating with the airport base station.
Airport is the company’s wireless networking solution that provides
the Net access up to 11 mbps.
"The Powerbook
G4 outperforms Pentium III-based notebook systems by up to 30 per
cent," the company’s release says.
