Republic day this year turned doomsday When God in Gujarat appeared to have fled away Burying the mothers under the boulders With crying children on their shoulders Those who survived sank into sorrow Hungry and thirsty with nothing to borrow Neither roof nor shelter With biting cold and
fears of tremors |
Without any sins they fell a prey The Army, the Airforce and the Navy Came rushing and saved many The angels in olive green fought the battle and rushed the injured to their hospitals The doctors and the nurses struggled so hard Without any sleep acted like a their guard A woman hugging a soldier To express her gratitude to her saviour For the people of Gujarat, the God fled away and the angels in uniforms jumped into the fray O God, let them have a faith in your vision So that they remain determined to fight this destruction. — Ruby Parmar
The world of my dreams... I once had a dream to make world of my own.... That has love and peace, where souls aren’t alone; Where the world isn’t cushy, and his will isn’t blown; Where he stands on his feet, and his thoughts are grown; Where he wants to fly, and his wings aren’t torn; Where he sings his songs, and his dreams are born; Where he sleeps in peace, ‘n’ perceives every dawn; Where he lives his life, and lives it on his own..... — Ritika Mittal (16), New Delhi
Disaster The destruction and disaster caused by the earthquake, soon it has to be given a break. Otherwise, it may cause several innocent deaths, Without any warning it will take our breaths. We will see cries and sorrows on the ground, This is what we have now found. Land of Gujarat screamed out this The people who are now not with us, we will always miss. Let’s pray for the departed souls And do our duty and play our roles. — Prachi Minglani,
