Basant Utsav on Feb 3

LUDHIANA, Jan 24 — Basant Utsav, a talent hunt programme at college level, will be organised on February 3 at Nehru Sidhant Kendra by the Ludhiana Sanskritik Samagam. The president, Mr Sunil Munjal, informed that after a process of talent hunt, the finalists will be participating in classical, semi-classical, gazals, folk songs, dance, bhangra and giddha competitions.

The students of SDP College, Government College, Khalsa College for Women, Ramgarhia College etc. will be participating in this competition. The aim of the competition is to bring to the fore the young talent.

Ludhianvis will be privileged to watch the famous actress Jaya Bachchan in a play Ma Retire Hoti Hai to be staged on February 24 at Guru Nanak Bhavan.

Mr S.K. Jha and Mr Sunil Munjal, in the press conference informed, that they were very encouraged after the success of the play Taash Ke Patte by Kadar Khan and hence decided to bring another renowned play directed by Ramesh Talwar and written by Ashok Patole and produced by Sanjay Goradia.

The play has a powerful performance by Jaya Bachchan and is ably supported by Ramesh Talwar, another famous stage artist.
