Confidence soars with Math Flight

Hello friends and welcome to our weekly chat.

Fluppy: Hey guys, no chatting today. We have to do some serious discussions today. Remember??

Windy: Remember what?

Cliparti: I remember. Fluppy wanted some serious studying material.

Windy: Wow! Fluppy baby, I hope you don’t have a very high fever. Do you want me to call a doctor for you?

Cliparti: Hey, don’t tease him. He is perfectly fine. He is quite serious and thinks that he should study at least this time of the year.

Windy: Ha, Ha, study and Fluppy! That’s the joke of the millennium.

Fluppy: Studies and me do go together. Hey Cliparti, don’t let him bother you. You tell me about some good site.

Cliparti
: Yeah, sure. First of all, let me tell you of Math Flight. At http://www.datacom.ca/~ron you will come across this wonderful educational program where you really have to race against time. This program is not only for children but for grown-ups too. You have to answer a set of math problems at various levels of difficulty. Practice with math flight and over a period of time, not only will you be able to solve the problems correctly but also finish the paper well before time.

Windy: That’s really good. You know it often happens that even if you know how to solve the question paper, you are often forced to leave it uncompleted due to lack of time. Basically that happens because your speed is slow and not because the time given is less. So I guess this mathematics flight can really help in that case.

Cliparti: Rightly said. There is another download at http://www.iepmath.com. As the name suggests this also deals with mathematics. It will help you improve your Algebra skills. With loads of examples, reviews, practice tests and drills all your troubles regarding understanding of particular concepts will be removed.

Fluppy: Good. That will take care of my maths problems. What about my other subjects?

Windy: Somebody really seems to be serious this time.

Cliparti: Of course, he is. Anyhow, this one is for your English grammar and writing. Log on at http://webster.commnet.edu/grammar and you will learn all about sentence making, paragraph forming, and essay writing, besides other grammar topics. Be it phrases, verbs, spellings, tenses all is here. You can even improve your hand at letter writing. You can also try the look smart search engine, which will take you to a list of pages that contain the word or phrase you’re looking for.

Fluppy: This one sounds to be a complete English guide.

Windy: How about some science now?

Cliparti: Sure. Why don’t you suggest some thing on it?

Windy: Okay. At www.explorescience.com you will come across an interactive learning experience for explaining all scientific concepts. Through activities you can explore the scientific world. It will also tell you how maths and science will blend in special education.

Fluppy: This "exploratorium" of yours sounds good, but for holidays. At present I want something that would help me with the course at school and not enhance my knowledge for general purpose.

Windy: Whole year round you just play and have fun and suddenly at the end of year you need something to fetch you marks. That is really mean of you. In that case, I believe, you need a magic wand and not any site that gets you marks out of nowhere.

Cliparti: No, No, you’ve got him a little wrong. All Fluppy wants is something related to his course, as he doesn’t have enough time to spare for activities and things like that.

Fluppy: Yeah.

Windy: Hmm, I understand. At http://www.kapili.com/physics4kids you will come across this wonderful site that will teach you about motion, thermodynamics, Light, electricity etc. Basically physics is the nature’s way of making everything happen. Be it walking, riding, lighting or simply any other thing, it is all physics. Everything on earth, everything in our solar system, everything in our galaxy and in our Universe moves or exists because of forces. And physics studies those forces and interactions. And this is your physics site. Apart from this, kapili.com has similar sites on various other subjects too. These subjects include astronomy, biology, chemistry, geography etc. So what do you say about this, Fluppy?

Fluppy: Wow! Wow!! Wow!!! That’s a complete treasure, I must say.

Cliparti: This sure sounds like an excellent site. But Fluppy, you don’t need to wow wow like a dog.

Fluppy: What I meant was, it was not just doubly good but treble times good.

Cliparti: You and your vocabulary! Better get down to that guide to grammar, I just told you about.

Fluppy: Don’t worry. I will not only improve my English but maths and physics and geography and biology and ............

Windy: Hang on! I think that should be more than enough for the time being we’ll talk of other "ands" later.

Fluppy: As you please.
