Data carrier detect:
Data carrier detect or DCD is the hardware signal defined by the
RS-232-C specification that indicates that a device such as a modem is
online and ready for transmission.
Animated GIF:
Animated GIF refers to a single GIF file composed of several images
and animated. Animated GIFs are supported by most browsers but are
limited in their flexibility and control. However, animated GIFs
generally have a smaller file size than other animation files, such as
Java Applets or QuickTime movies. It is currently the most popular
animation method for the Web.
Half duplex:
Half duplex refers to the data transmission that can occur in two
directions over a single line, but only one direction at a time,
whereas the opposite of half duplex is full duplex, which means the
ability of a device or line to transmit data simultaneously in both
directions.
Pixel: Pixel
is a single point in a graphic image. Computer monitors
divide pictures displayed into thousands or millions of pixels,
arranged in rows and columns on the screen and squeezed closely
together to form a cohesive image.
Telnet:
Telnet is one of the TCP/IP applications that lets you log in to
remote computers on the Internet.
IP switching:
IP switching is a new technology designed to address the need for
faster throughput between separate subnets or VLANs. IP switching
retains the control functions of routing while leveraging the
wire-speed forwarding capabilities of switching. This approach offers
the ability to scale to gigabit network requirements.
