Impress Mom with e-kahaniyaan

Hello and welcome to the weekly kids chat.

Cliparti: Hey guys, do you know according to the Guinness Book of World Records, the largest number of human beings to ever assemble with a common purpose is at the time of --------------. Go on fill in the blank.

Fluppy: I don’t know.

Windy: I don’t think I know that one.

Cliparti: It’s at Mahakumbh mela. It is held only once every 12 years between January 14th and the end of February at Allahabad.

Windy: Yeah, I’ve been reading about it in the newspapers. It’s the holy dip at the Sangam of the Ganga and the Yamuna. It is one of the most auspicious rituals for a Hindu.

Fluppy: Wow! That’s really wonderful. Especially, at this time of the year when it is cold.

Cliparti
: People from all corners of the world come and gather for the holy dip. If you wish to know more about it log on to www.mahakumbhmela.com. Tantriks and magicians with old assortment of tricks create a world of illusions and the sound of conches and snake charmer’s pipes can be heard all over.

Windy: India being a country with all diversity has an abundant treasure to be explored by people.

Cliparti: And all this can be done with the help of good reading. Nowadays, you really don’t know where to shop for good books and what all books are available in the market.

Windy: Kids Book Bazaar is one such place that is committed to bring you quality educational material, be it books, audio or video cassettes and CDs for children of all ages. It will give you details about the book, along with sale price, and time it would take to be shipped. What’s more, in case you cannot find exactly what you need in their catalogue, they will gladly accept the request and try to add it in their inventory list. You can reach them at http://www.kidsbookbazar.com/ and find good reading material for yourself.

Cliparti: For young kids like Fluppy, www.kidsaptitude.com is another wonderful site. It will take you on a journey of India where you can know more about your country. It will amuse you with short stories and for leisure times you can have e-drawings and sketches. Of course, as your brainteasers it has word search puzzle, Aladdin in search of treasure and lots of riddles and fairy tale quiz. What’s more, it even has wonderful tips that you can suggest to your mom and impress her.

Fluppy: That reminds me, last time you told me of those magic tricks site. I applied those tricks on my mom and she was really annoyed. She said that all I am learning from the Net is this useless stuff. Cliparti, tell me of some "goody goody" site that will impress my mom.

Cliparti: My, My! For once Fluppy is asking for a "goody goody" site! Don’t worry. I will not disappoint you. At http://www.schoolsahead.com you will come across this complete learning portal. It has almost everything in it from your school subjects to know more about India, to E-kahaniya to astronomy to tips for students, parents and teachers. Learn about Indian flora and fauna and sit with a panel of scientists, eat smart and stay healthy with schoolsahead. You might even find your own school featured in its homepage. It’s what your mother will get impressed with.

Windy: You can also log on to www.kidsmath.com and improve your mathematics skills. Especially for the age groups of 3 to 12, this site has some interesting and interactive ways of learning mathematics. This will not only impress your mother but also your teacher. And basically telling of a site is not going to fool your mother. You will have to show some results if you really want her to be impressed. Remember she is your mother!

Fluppy: I know. That’s why I can never seem to bluff her. I guess I’ll really have to do some serious studying to impress her.

Windy: High time you started it dear. In about two months time, you’ll have examinations banging at your door. There is no way to escape it. So better get down to studying.

Fluppy: Okay. Next week you get me some real good sites for some real good studying. Right?

Windy: Right.
