Dreaming of birds

SUCH a scene, if seen in dreams, of massacring birds spells ill for the dreamer. But if you see birds flying, it is a sign of prosperity. All disagreeable environs shall disappear before the wave of prospective good. To see a wounded bird is indicative of deep sorrow caused by the mistakes of your children. Seeing a bird with a colourful and beautiful plumage is very favourable.

Should a young woman watch it, then she would soon get a good partner who would bring a lot of happiness in her life. A dumb bird denotes inhuman treatment meted by you to someone who is weaker and less privileged. This could in future,lead to a lot of unhappiness. To hear a pet bird speak is owning up the ability to perform tasks that demand clear perception. To be seen killing birds with a gun is disastrous for the dreamer.

As per Indian thought , the concentration is more on individual birds. For instance, seeing an owl is very unlucky and is indicative of sickness. If a crow calls out in your dreams then you shall soon be reunited with someone close to you. Seeing a pigeon is indicative of good news, while a parrot foretells that all your troubles shall soon be over. Even a peacock is a symbol of happiness and a duck is indicative of promotions. But if it is swimming then you shall gain in your business or on the work front, but if it is flying then you shall gain monetarily.

To see a cock indicates gains in business, while seeing a hen denotes establishment of love relationships.

To see a cock cut indicates loss in business and to see a hen cut is indicative of the romantic liaison turning into a sexual one.

Seeing a swan shows progress, while having a fowl predicts pleasure-giving relationships. Seeing a lot of birds in your dreams indicates success, while seeing them die means failure shall befall you on every step.

Ever since pagan times, man has been fascinated by birds and light. Psychologically, man often needs to project human qualities onto objects outside himself. Because bird’s conduct is entirely instinctive, they can be used in dreams to understand man’s behaviour. A caged bird can represent restraint or entrapment, whereas a flying bird represents aspirations and desires.

In a man’s dream a bird can represent the anima,whereas in a woman’s dream it suggests the self. The cock is a representation of the masculine principle, whereas the dove is the anima.The eagle, being a bird of prey, signifies domination and supremacy.It can also stand for the more carnivorous side of man.The hen represents providence, maternal care and procreation and if it crows in a dream it indicates feminine domination. The ostrich represents the characteristic of a shunner who runs away from responsibility.

Thus birds in dreams usually represent freedom, imagination, thoughts and ideas which by nature need freedom to be able to become evident.
