Kids Chat

Put pocket money in kid-e-bank

Hello and welcome to the Kids Chat.

Fluppy: You’ve told me of so many different sites but do you know what my kinda site is?

Windy: Yeah. Your kinda site is sure to be games, games, games.

Fluppy: He! He! Fooled you. My kindasite.com is the name of a site.

Cliparti: Just look at that. It sure is a nice name. Do you know what it has?

Fluppy: Yes, of course. It has my kinda Lab, a party zone, music, games, play school, stories and lots more. Guess what, it also has a kids’ bank.

Cliparti: What is that?

Windy: It must be kid-e-bank.

Fluppy: Yes, true.

Windy
: Actually ICICI Bank has brought a banking service for children, aged 5-12 years. You can open your account and keep a check on it through the Internet.

Fluppy: But I don’t know anything about banking.

Windy: You need not worry for that. You will have cute animal companions to guide you through the world of banking. These lessons include topics like money, bartering, saving, earning interest and writing cheques.

Cliparti: But Windy, apart from learning about money matters, why else is this site useful for us?

Windy: Your parents can transfer your pocket money to the kid-e-bank account. And then you can utilise it for shopping at the kid-e-bank’s page.

Fluppy: Wow. That means I can have my own account in the bank and do some shopping too.

Windy: What’s more. You can even win fabulous prizes as you save more and more money. You can reach this either through my kinda site or directly through www.icici.com/icicibank/index2htm.

Cliparti: But truly speaking, as Windy said, your kinda site will be games and games.

Fluppy: Umm.

Windy: Log on to www.indiagames.com and play online games. You can also try at http://www.funbrain.com. It has games for all age groups from 6 and under to 17 and up. It also has parent quizzes with various sub-sections like infant behavior, toddlers, preschoolers or school age children. It will also tell parents on how to participate in their child’s education. Not only that, it has good material for teachers too.

Cliparti: At http://kidszone.aiol.com/home.shtm also you will come across various kids zone channels. It has all sorts of games and quiz and story corner along with some hot links. You can also make some friends here. Another fun sites is http://www.wowkids.org/left.htm. The various sections include jokes, movies, games, flights, love, books, food, ideas, people, wonders, why nots and parents.

Windy: You know there is a wonderful site for us. At http://www.tweentimes.com you will come across a lot of informative and fun stuff. Go through the tweencyclopedia and learn about various fascinating facts. Know about nature, world, science, places and the universe. Click on the young achiever and get inspired by them. Keep updated with all latest happenings around the world. Visit the photo gallery and capture the moments of life. Read a new story each day and get tips on varied aspects. Be it astrology or cricket or a recipe guide, it is all in one.

Fluppy: That sure sounds a good site for you guys.

Cliparti: I have a nice site for you too. It is www.amarchitrakatha.com. You must have read some of those comics.

Fluppy: Yes. I have read a few.

Windy: Oh, I remember the time when we read these comics. They are lovely set of books. Truly Indian. The manner in which it is written is so lucid and simple, yet it tells us so much about our history, culture and glorious past. I am so happy that they are on the Net now.

Cliparti: Yes, at http://www.amarchitrakatha.com you can have the pleasure of reading all of these. Besides you can also buy the comics online, talk to uncle Pai and much more.

Windy: With so much of Western influence diluting our culture, I often feel sorry for those kids who, for example are aware of Archies comics but not aware of Amar Chitra Katha or Nandan or Champak. They don’t know what they are missing.

Cliparti: Yes. I think we should only take good qualities of other culture and remain firm on our own roots. Just as a plant soon dies without its roots, a man without his roots will also phase out.

Fluppy: But Cliparti, man does not have roots.

Windy: Forget it, you are too stupid to understand it.

Cliparti: Okay, cool it. Fluppy I have another game site for you. At http://www.appukids.com/games.htm you can play Snakes and Ladders or Hangman or Ludo or smart minds. Some games will also check your memory or help you in English by asking you to plural the words. There is a game on the map of India. It is surely going to increase your geography knowledge. Spin a tale or go for Appusafari. You can also cook up some mouthwatering recipes or contribute jokes, stories, experiments or puzzles to this site.

Windy: I think Fluppy has rather had a very good time today.

Cliparti: Yes, with all these fun and games sites.

Windy: How about boring him a little?

Cliparti: Oh sure. Actually at http://www.kidsmath.com, you will come across a website which is quite a favorite of parents, teachers the world over. This would teach you maths and is available in not only English but Chinese and Spanish too. Here kids learn in the playway style. Be it for children from the elementary age of 3 to 8 or intermediate i.e. 8 - 12 or even algebra for advanced. Everything is here.

Fluppy: Can’t you guys have one decent chat without spoiling it with studies talk?

Windy: Only if you can have one decent chat without a games talk!
