1)AMPS (Advanced Mobile Phone System): Advanced mobile phone system is a standard for analogue mobile systems. It is currently being used in North America, Latin America, Australia and parts of Russia and Asia.

2)ASP (Active Server Pages): Active server pages are the scripting technology related to the servers, which are used to make interactive Web pages. It is based on VBScript.

3)XML: Extensible Markup Language is the Internet standard being used in WAP or wireless application protocol. It was developed by W3C and is the standard for the Internet markup languages. WML is also one of these languages.

4)WYSIWYG: It is a very common term used in Web pages/sites and is an important term of Internet terminology, which means What You See Is What You Get.

 


5)WAP Gateway:
A WAP gateway is two-way software. Its main function is to offload the WAP mobile device from a lot of computational layers.

6)SMS (Short Message Service): SMS is a service for sending messages up to 160 characters to mobile phones and other handheld devices including pagers that use Global System for Mobile (GSM) communication. These are a very popular use of mobile phone and are normally free. Thus, it offers a cost effective method of communication. In India, a lot of cellular service providers are offering this service.

7)Ethernet: Ethernet is the most common technology for connecting computers together in a network using LAN card.
