My wish I wish my teacher would really see, How many virtues are there in me. I wish my friend would understand, That our friendship could be so grand. I wish my neighbour would play with me, Instead of lazing around, what I can see. I wish I could lunch on chocolate cream, But I think it’ll only remain a dream. I wish I could borrow my brother’s bike, Though in the wheels it has got spikes. I wish days came back when I was small, But no one understands at all. Prerna Sharma, Class

While eating my curds. Some are big, some are small Some are fat, some are tall. I watch them peck at the grains, And pass through the narrow lanes. They love to fly In the sky. In trees and bushes they make their nest, For them it is the most comfortable and best. Some prevent the destruction of many a crop, And guard them from bottom to top. I watch them fly And say ‘Bye Bye’. Anupreet Kaur Paik, Class VI-A, Carmel Convent School, Chandigarh On the path of life Set a goal for yourselfand hold the flag of determination. Choose the path of honesty and truth, if you want to gain satisfaction. Light the candle of hope at night, and let patience be your guide Shade of faith will give you comfort, if sun of failure begins to rise. You may feel tired, as the journey is very long. But success demands efforts, so try to be strong. Because of thorns underneath, your feet may begin to bleed. The healing power of prayer, now, you will need. One day certainly you will reach your destination, And many will follow your footsteps, For them, you will become an inspiration. — Archana Sharma, BA-II, GCG-42, Chandigarh
