Looking back

Gunpowder plot — It was the plot of a few Roman Catholics to blow up the houses of parliament on November 5, 1605 while kings, lords and commons were assembled there. The plot was devised by Robert Catesby and Guy Fawkes was chosen to put it into execution. The plot was betrayed and the conspirators were executed.
