Know about Indian festivals

HI friends! How is it going?

Fluppy: Schools of some kids are about to reopen, while others still have a week to enjoy.

Windy: Well, that’s because at some places Dasehra has already been celebrated while at some places like Kulu, it is still going on.

Cliparti: Yeah, Dasehra is celebrated all over the country but has special significance in Himachal Pradesh, especially Kulu. Tourists from all over the world come and visit Himachal in the month of October especially, to witness this festival at Kulu.

Fluppy: How do people in all parts of the world get to know about the festivals and their importance in different parts of our country?

Cliparti: Of course, those who are really interested have their own sources and are in touch with whatever is happening at their place of interest. With the Internet also you can get any sort of information. At http:/www.naradonline.com/n-festivals/kulud.shtr you can literally get a festival calendar of Himachal. For those tourists who are not aware where Kulu is, there is also a location and how to reach guide at this site.

Windy: http://www.e-travelinfo.com/festivalsofindia3.htm is another such site where you can find complete information on all Indian festivals.

Fluppy: So that means it can help me write my essays too.

Windy: That’s a good utility you’ve created. But don’t be lazy and dependent on the Internet for each and every thing of your life.

Cliparti: Hey, you don’t know to what extent he relies on the Net. He got a science project to do for his holiday homework. Instead of applying his brain work…

Fluppy: Excuse me, I used so much of my brain in searching the right site and the right project to do.

Windy: Okay, so what project did you copy?

Fluppy: I did not copy it. I only took guidance on how to go about it.

Cliparti: Come on tell him what was it

Fluppy: Now that you guys insist so much, I’ll tell you. It was a project on making a sun clock and using shadows to tell time. Did you know that before there were clocks, people used shadows to tell time?

Windy: Of course I know, where did you get to know about it?

Fluppy: At http://www.exploratorium.edu.science_explorer/sunclock.htm. I came to know of various other things also. Do you wish to hear?

Windy: No thanks. Save me the trouble.

Fluppy: Your loss!

Cliparti: Yeah it sure is his loss, honey. I’ll tell you of another such site, which will enrich your mind and answer all your queries about science and nature.

Fluppy: Yeah, go on tell me but don’t tell it to Windy. He thinks too much of himself.

Cliparti: Don’t talk like that. Anyhow, http://.kidscience.about.com/kids/kidscience/cs/lifescience/index.htr is one such informative site, which will give you links to sites on physics, technology, aerodynamics, space, earth, history, math or simply anything. Learn about everything so that even you’ll have reasons to "think too much of yourself ".

Fluppy: Thanks Cliparti, you sure are a darling. Anyhow what’s a kid chat without a game talk?

Windy: Look he is back to games again! All he is capable of doing is play games.

Fluppy: Of course not! After so much of studying it is equally important to play games. Right Cliparti?

Cliparti: Right Fluppy .All work and no play surely makes Jack a dull boy!

Fluppy: See?

Windy: At http://www .selectsurf.com/kids/fun,you can find a huge resource on fun and games. You can build your own monster, chat with online friends, piece together a virtual potato head, read or even create your own adventure story.

Fluppy: That’s nice. So finally I have a chance to tell the world what a great storywriter I can be.

Windy: On the contrary. How horrible storywriter can one be!
