Mock CAT for real experience
From Our Correspondent

LUDHIANA, Oct 8 — To prepare the candidates for the Combined Admission Test (CAT), which is just two months away, Top Careers and You, a career counselling centre, organised a mock test at Government College for Women, here today. More than 100 candidates from Ludhiana, Khanna, Phillaur, Moga and Samrala took the test.

The test was in exact simulation of CAT. The candidates were given 187 multiple choice questions, which they were supposed to answer in 120 minutes. The degree of difficulty was also kept the same. ‘‘The main purpose of conducting the test was to make the students realise the strategies for clearing the test because knowing the strategies is more important than working hard,’’ said Mr Kamal Wadhera, director of the centre.

After the test, a two-hour long discussion based on the question paper was held. The students stated the problems they faced and the instructors of the centre answered their queries. Candidates who appeared for the test said,‘‘The mock test made us somewhat confident and we have realised our weak points.’’

Mr Wadhera said similar mock tests would be organised on October 29 and November 12 to prepare the students for the real CAT examination scheduled for December 10. Back
