Jewels bring luck
By Vinaya Katoch Manhas

TOLMY stated that, "dreaming of diamond, oh lover, thy wife will be a diamond to thee, very precious, right happy thou shall be. Man of commerce if thou dreamest of diamonds, great quantities of gold will roll into thy. Seamen and sailors, dream away about diamonds, for it betokens to you great good, barren women dream of diamonds, and children thou shalt have and good ones too."

Thus to dream of diamonds is considered to be very lucky. So also is it with other jewels. Dreaming of them denotes prosperity and riches, and every jewel has its own significance. Emerald symbolises youth and immortality, whereas a pearl signifies inner beauty. Ruby is a stands for passion and crystal for purity. Where garnet brings forth devotion, loyalty and grace, turquoise symbolises courage, success, and a zircon signifies worldly wisdom.

If you dream of inheriting jewellery, it foretells prosperity but not a satisfactory one. To find them stands for rapid and brilliant advancement. To buy them proves your success in matters close to your heart.

Dreaming of broken jewellery, predicts disappointments in matters concerning your desires. If the jewellery is rusted, then friends and people you trusted shall disappoint you.

Even Charak, the great Hindu philosopher, said dreams of jewellery were very lucky. To see them being stolen from you or someone else shall bring forth loss of prosperity and respect. To see yourself adorned with a lot of jewellery predicts abundant riches in the near future. To see friends and relatives adorned also is an indication of prosperity.

For a person to see himself eating in gold and silver utensils means intelligence and good sense shall prevail, as per the Parashar Samhita.

If a man sees a woman adorned in beautiful earrings it foretells good news of financial gains. For a woman to dream that she has lost her jewellery means separation from her husband or loved one. For her to dream of getting a pearl necklace as a gift indicates that her husband is very caring and is always trying to fulfil her wishes.

An emerald is not a very lucky stone to see in a dream. It predicts breaking up of relationships. If a woman dreams of herself accepting gold jewellery it means that she shall get her a money-minded, rich husband. On the other hand to dream of amethyst is very lucky as it brings forth peace and happiness in married lives. To see yourself wearing clothes of gold threads is an indication of position of respect that you shall acquire soon.

Psychoanalytically, jewels in dreams symbolise those things which we value. It could be related to our personal qualities, our sense of integrity, our ability to be true to ourselves, or even our very essential being. To look for jewels is to search for a part of ourselves.

In my dream I saw that I am wearing a ruby necklace. Everyone is praising it, but when I put my hand to it I do not find it on my neck but on that of another lady who was also in the party.

Ruby as we have seen is a stone of royalty and passion. You had it but you lost it to someone else. You need to introspect if you wish to regain that which you have lost. Psychoanalytically, it shows your awareness of the fact that you lack qualities which the other lady possesses. If you value those qualities then try to get them back.
