Principals protest against booking of colleague
From Our Correspondent

KHANNA, Sept 12 — The Association of Principals of Non-Government Colleges Affiliated to Panjab University, Chandigarh, has protested against the “unjustified and hasty booking” of Ms J.K. Minhas, Principal, Guru Nanak Girls College, Model Town, Ludhiana, on charges of cheating and forgery by the Ludhiana police.

Principal Tarsem Bahia, President of the association, said the Trustees of the college were involved in a factional fight for power. All Trustees claimed to be the real representative of the Trust and the dispute was pending in various courts. He asserted that the Principal had not drawn even a single paisa for her personal use or for any unauthorised purpose. The money had been spent for payment of salaries to the staff.

He further said registering a case against the Principal not only hurt the prestige of the Principal, but also affected the discipline and efficiency in the college. He appealed to the Ludhiana district administration to look into the matter and to ensure that working of the institution was not adversely affected.
