IMA comes to aid of ‘harassed’ doctor
From Our Correspondent

LUDHIANA, Sept 6 — Dr Gursharan Singh, President, local chapter of the Indian Medical Association, has expressed his support to Dr Satish Arora, who is being accused of removing the kidney of a patient without his knowledge.

In a press note released here, the IMA President labelled these allegations as baseless and concocted. The matter had come up in the limelight when Major Ram, a handicapped patient of Kang Arian village, near Phillaur, alleged a few days ago that Dr Satish Arora had removed his kidney without his knowledge.

Dr Satish strongly refuted the charges made by the patient, saying that kidney transplant was a major operation which could not be done at a place like Phillaur. The procedure involved many doctors and legal hitches that it was not possible to remove the kidney at one place and transplant it at another, he said.
