Skating honours for Guru Nanak School

LUDHIANA, Sept 1 —The trophy for the overall best performance was presented to Guru Nanak International Public School, Model Town, Ludhiana, in the 3rd Ludhiana District Roller Skating Championship held from August 25 to 27 this year at Bhaini Sahib. Dr S S Sandhu, Municipal Commissioner, Ludhiana, presided over the prize distribution function.

The results of skater of Guru Nanak International Public School are as follows : Rajbir Singh and Ashpreet Singh Kaur won two and three gold medals, respectively, in the age group of 0-4 years. Rippenpreet Kaur and Harleen Kaur won three gold and three bronze, respectively, in the age group of 4-6 years.

Gurasispal Singh and Harvir Singh won three gold and one bronze medals, respectively, in the age group of 6-8 years Prabhjeet Kaur, Nirbhai Singh Gill and Jaswinder Singh won one silver, three gold and one bronze medal , respectively, in the age group of 8-10 years.

Rajbir Singh won silver medal in the age group of 10-12 years. Harkirat S Bhatia and Talwinder Singh won three gold and one gold, respectively, in the age group of 12-14 years.

MC general house meeting adjourned

LUDHIANA, Sept 1 — The meeting of the municipal corporation general house was adjourned a few minutes after being called to order today. It will now be held on September 7.

Before adjournment of the meeting, the Mayor, Mr Apinder Singh Grewal, made obituary references to devotees of Amarnath pilgrimage gunned down by the militants in the Kashmir valley, Union Minister for Power Mr P.R. Kumarmangalam, Mr Bhagwan Das, a Congress legislator from Sunam, Mr Pakhar Singh, father of Mr Manjit Singh Mundian, councillor, Mr Iqbal Singh, brother in law of Giani Baldev Singh, councillor and Mrs Mohinder Kaur, wife of local SAD leader Mr Avtar Singh Makkar.
