Summons to Cong leader

LUDHIANA, July 26 — The District Sessions Judge has issued summons to a Youth Congress leader, Mr Sushil Kumar Thapar alias Raju Thapar for August 30 in a case under section 3 of the Prevention of Atrocities Act and Section 7 of the Prevention of Civil Rights Act, alongwith his wife, Indu Thapar, Mahla Ram Makkar, Naveen Kumar and Charanjit alias Channi Gill.

The case had been filed against all the above mentioned by Mrs Anju Nahar, who had alleged that they had forcibly tried to evict her from her house and also used abusive language about her caste.

Fashion show on July 30

LUDHIANA, July 26 — The National Institute of Fashion Design will organise a show - Rock and Walk - on July 30 at Magnet Resorts.

Top ramp models from Mumbai, including Bipasha Basu, Aditi Gowitkar, Helen Brodie, Sheetal Mallar and Jassi of Kudi-Kudi fame will be the main attractions of the show.

Besides, performances by singers namely Gursevak Maan, Dewang Patel, a dance troupe from Mumbai will also perform.The programme will be compered by Hugo D,Souza from Channel V.

The objective of the event is to exhibit the garments designed by students of the institute.
