National integration camp inaugurated
SRINAGAR, July 23 — A week-long national integration camp was inaugurated here yesterday by the Union Minister for Sports, Mr S.S. Dhindsa, at Dras in Kargil district. The camp is being organised by the Nehru Yuvak Kendra to commemorate the Kargil victory.

National integration camp inaugurated

SRINAGAR, July 23 — A week-long national integration camp was inaugurated here yesterday by the Union Minister for Sports, Mr S.S. Dhindsa, at Dras in Kargil district. The camp is being organised by the Nehru Yuvak Kendra to commemorate the Kargil victory.

Titled as “Salaam Kargil”, 120 youth from 12 States are participating in the camp. In addition, 50 youth from all over India will paint landscape of Dras during the camp.

The Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, Mr Shahnawaz Khan, and the Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Tourism and Youth Services, Mr S.S. Salathia, were present on the occasion.

Mr S.S. Dhindsa referring to the demand for the construction of a youth hostel at Dras and promotion of Polo and Archery assured the people that he will discuss the matter with the authorities concerned in Delhi. He asked the Minister for Tourism and Youth Services, Mr S.S. Salathia, to identify land for the purpose.

Delay in campaign led to confusion: CM

SRINAGAR, July 23 — The Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, Dr Farooq Abdullah, today allayed ‘wrong impressions’ about the state autonomy committee report.

He was addressing a function organised to hand over ambulances to various hospitals here this afternoon, the Chief Minister admitted the delay in making the state autonomy committee report known to all concerned had caused confusion.

Referring to his seven-day tour of the country, the Chief Minister said, he had apprised various leaders of national and regional parties about the autonomy resolution.
