LUDHIANA, June 10 — The grit and determination to carve out a niche for themselves in the ever-exploring scientific world has led five students of the local Guru Nanak Engineering College into designing a two-stroke Vespa scooter that uses liquified petroleum gas as an alternative fuel.

Clash at university; three booked
LUDHIANA, June 10 — The police today booked three students of Punjab Agricultural University on the charge of violence and disturbing peace and harmony in a public place after six persons were injured in a clash between two groups of students at the university yesterday.

LUDHIANA, June 10 —The small-scale industries have now been allowed to use foreign brand names for the export products.

School summer camp ends
LUDHIANA, June 10 — Hollihock Nursery School here organised a summer school for tiny tots of the city. About 50 students from various schools of the city participated in it.

Students return from trip
LUDHIANA, June 10 — As many as 53 students (36 boys and 17 girls) and three teachers of Guru Nanak Public School, here, undertook an adventurous trip to Chakrata and Devban from May 28 to June 2 in the hills of Uttar Pradesh.

Summer camp at school
LUDHIANA, June 10 — A summer camp in sports is being organised in Bhartiya Vidya Mandir, Kitchlu Nagar. It is the second time that the school has organised a summer camp for the students. The camp started on June 2. 154 students from fifth to 12th classes are participating in it.

LUDHIANA, June 10 — The much-awaited commissioning of the Employees State Insurance Corporation Hospital here is likely to get delayed due to some shortcomings. It may take at least three more months before the hospital is commissioned.

LUDHIANA, June 10 — The Punjab State Electricity Board appears to have decided to get tough with the corrupt officials and has already suspended 127 of its employees, including several officers on graft charges.
