JKDFP office sealed

SRINAGAR, March 18 (PTI) — The police and paramilitary forces today sealed the headquarters of the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) here in a bid to prevent its president Shabir Ahmad Shah and his followers from proceeding to Delhi tomorrow to participate in a demonstration on March 20.

The demonstration has been planned to attract attention of US President Bill Clinton to the alleged plight of Kashmiris and their demand for right of self-determination.

The police assisted by paramilitary forces sealed the JKDFP headquarters at Rajbagh and residence of Shah at Hyderpora on the Srinagar airport road this morning, official sources said.

The police also raided houses of the close relatives of Shah in Srinagar but could not trace him.

Shah is missing for the past two days, a JKDFP spokesman told PTI.

Condemning police crackdown on the office and residence of Shah, he said JKDFP has only planned a peaceful demonstration. Top
