Holidays

THE administration is so dutiful in City Beautiful.
They wake up and declare a holiday,
When the children are already waiting for the bus,
Then they say it is just a holiday so why the fuss.
There is utter confusion and chaos.
Time is wasted in coming and going.
So let us not have so many holidays.

In the hostel

I miss my mom,
Here in hostel.
Far from everyone,
As in a stone castle.
Separated from my friends,
My dad and my mom.
I find everyone cold,
Oh home was so warm!
Here I’m alone,
Standing among strangers.
With fear of seniors,
And ragging dangers.

  Lousy mess dinners,
And rare outings.
‘Seniors’ with untied tempers,
Roommates who feel like shouting.
But I am to find friends soon,
Like me and my old pals.
And there’ll be a hand to pull me up,
In case I ever fall.

Live together

World today is full of crime,
To think of others one has no time.
Earth today is red with blood,
Of a series of war there is flood.
Millions are wounded and thousands die,
With this act of cruelty whole nation is left to cry.
Life has now lost its peace,
And humanity forgotten its compassion.
Man today is unable to understand a small thing,
That peace is life and destruction is what war brings.
So if blossoms among thorns one wants to gather,
Try to maintain peace and lets live together.
