132 liquor

The police has seized 132 bottles and 110 pouches
of illicit liquor from various labour colonies of the
city. While confiscation of liquor is a routine matter,
the quantity recovered has reportedly increased since
elections were announced, police sources said.
The police arrested
Prem, a resident of Bapu Dham colony, and seized nine
cases of whisky,besides 60 pouches of liquor from his
residence in the colony.
Vijay, a resident of
Madrasi colony, Bapu Dham, was also arrested for
possessing two cases of whisky.
Cases under Section 61 -
1 -14 of the Excise Act have been registered at the
Police Station East.
Mohan, a resident of the
Sector 25 Janta Colony, was arrested and 50 pouches of
liquor were seized from his residence. A case under
Section 61 - 1 - 14 of the Excise Act has been registered
at the Police Station West.
Arrested
Varinder Singh, a resident of Sector 20, was
arrested while allegedly picking the pocket of a Kharar
resident,Sanjay Sharma, at the Sector 17 ISBT. A case
under Section 379 of the IPC has been registered at the
Sector 17 police station.
Eve-teasing
Anil Kumar, a resident of Sector 29, has been arrested
for allegedly indulging in eve- teasing in the same
sector. A case under Section 294 of the IPC, has been
registered at the Industrial Area police station.

As many as eight persons have been arrested for
roaming under suspicious circumstances in various parts
of the city. Cases under Section 41 (2) \ 109 Cr PC have
been registered at the Police Station East and Industrial
Area.
1 held
The police has arrested Chander Pal, a resident
of Dadu Majra colony and a proclaimed offender, who was
wanted in connection with a case registered against him
under sections 379, IPC, at the Police Station West in
1994.
Cheating case
The police has arrested Sanjeev Gupta and Gobind
Mohan, proprietors of a Sector 35 company , who were
wanted in connection with a case of cheating registered
against them under Section 420 \ 120 - B of the IPC, at
the Sector 31 police station.
